DesignWeek | June 14-20, 2010


San Francisco DesignWeek is organized by the local chapters of the AIGA, IDSA, IxDA, AIA, & SEGD, promoted by the DMI Conference, and supported as an official proclamation from Mayor Gavin Newsom & the City of San Francisco. We are sponsoring a full week of events highlighting the diversity and professionalism of the design community around the bay. The week will be full of fun events, lectures, workshops, parties, and open studios. Find out even more here: sfdesignweek.org.

MONDAY | DesignWeek Exhibit Opening Reception - FREE, 21 & older - an exhibit featuring award winning design work from the Bay Area Chapters of the IDSA, AIGA, IxDA, AIA, and SEGD. 6pm @ The AIGA San Francisco, 130 Sutter Street.

TUESDAY | Studio Crawl #1 - FREE, 21 & older - IDEO (6pm), Adaptive Path (6pm), Fuseproject (7pm), Hot Studio (7pm), New Deal (8pm), & Ammunition (8pm) - open studios are located on a walking route from one location to the next. Each studio will be open for one hour before everyone moves to the next spot. Please be respectful of our hosts and show up at the right time, check the map for details.

WEDNESDAY | Case Study: method - $20 (includes lunch) - to bridge the gap between business and design, this lunch-time seminar will present a business case study on how Design is employed at method (home and personal care company). 12noon @ AIGA San Francisco, 130 Sutter Street.

Forces for Good, Design for Social Impact - FREE, 21 & older - a very special evening celebrating designers, activists, architects, and investors in the Bay Area who are dedicated to creating positive change. Lectures from Brute Labs, The 1% Program, ushahidi.com, and the Mulago Foundation. 6pm @ The Barrel House, 80 Tehama Street.

THURSDAY | Studio Crawl #2 - FREE, 21 & older - Bay Cat (5pm), CCS Architecture (5pm), Lunar (6pm), Frog Design (7pm), R/GA (7pm), Smart Design (8pm), & Astro Studios (8pm) - open studios are located on a walking route from one location to the next. Each studio will be open for one hour before everyone moves to the next spot. Please be respectful of our hosts and show up at the right time, check the map for details.

FRIDAY | Social Impact through Design Thinking - $20 (includes entry to DesignWeek Closing Party) - hands-on workshop led by speakers from IDEO and the Stanford d.school. 4pm @ Adobe SF, 601 Townsend Street.
DesignWeek Closing Party - $10 (includes wine, food, music, & awesomeness) - 6:30pm @ Autodesk Gallery, One Market Street, Second Floor.
